For Primary Care Providers:
Why should my patient hire N-of-One?Are there advantages to my broader practice?
For Oncology Treatment team:
What advantages does N-of-One offer to my patients?Who is directing patient care and ordering tests?
Will I lose my patient to N-of-One?
How will communication be improved?
The most significant advantage is to increase the likelihood that your patient improves his or her outcome. The earlier we become involvedideally even before biopsies are donethe more comprehensive the tissue analysis can be. We can offer access to extensive research and additional expert opinion without bias. We can save you time by helping to coordinate communication among providers, consultants and advisors, your patient and their family.
In addition to the possibility of helping inform treatment strategies for an individual patient, N-of-One also offers a forum to connect you to a larger network of expert opinion and research.
N-of-One can provide a wealth of resources to enrich and guide the care and treatment of your patient. Our network of collaborating labs offers a much larger array of diagnostic capabilities than what is generally offered at most cancer centers. By being independent strategists, the network of expert clinical and scientific consultation available to you is expanded. We will work to help keep the communication between all providers (oncology team, primary care provider, etc.), experts and client connected with the same goal of optimizing your ability to provide the best care for your patients.
As the treatment team, you will work directly with your patient to determine the course of treatment. We will work with you, when appropriate, to facilitate processing of tissue for analysis at various labs with which we have relationships. The ultimate goal is to help you offer the best options for treatment.
No. N-of-One offers advocacy, research and access to additional networks of resources and diagnostics, but does not provide any care or advice. Our goal is to augment the services you provide to your patient.
While you are focused on the important treatment and care support of your patient, one of our primary purposes is to advocate for and communicate with all of the players involved in any patient's care. These may include family members, primary care providers, other members of the oncology team, and any additional providers the patient has engaged. As a provider, your time required for this type of ongoing communication is often severely constrained. We can also provide adjunctive support to your patient and their family members by taking the time to ensure that your patient is a well-informed participant in his or her own care.
