Peter brings over 18 years of brand marketing communications and entrepreneurial experience to MicroArts. Founded in 1988, MicroArts Creative Agency is proven in go-to-market strategies specializing in launching and repositioning brands to capture new revenues. Mr. Getman was instrumental in growing MicroArts from a three-person team to an eighty-employee agency and facilitated MicroArts' acquisition in 2001 by a public corporation [MicroArts has been reacquired and is once again privately held]. Mr. Getman has presided over 300 brand launches since the inception of MicroArts. He earned his degree from the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire.
Before joining Desktone, Peter served as Executive In Residence at North Bridge Venture Partners in Waltham, MA and Insight Ventures in New York. He also directed and advised many venture and private equity backed firms, including Spotfire (sold to Tibco), Application Security Inc., SmartBear Software (formally Automated QA), Lagan Software, N of One, Sonian, Inc. and Apperian, Inc. As President and CEO of Watchfire from 2001 through its acquisition by IBM in July 2007, Peter was responsible for defining and directing Watchfire's worldwide strategic direction, software development, sales efforts, market development and expansion activities resulting in the growth of Watchfire SaaS revenues from $3 million to $50 Million. Watchfire was a security solutions provider that employed highly disruptive product and go-to-market strategies to secure the largest market share in the fastest growing segment of the security industry. Prior to Watchfire, Peter was the President and CEO of eCredit before it was sold to Internet Capital Group in January 2001, growing the business from $3 million in revenue to $25 million in annualized revenue via a world-wide direct and indirect channel strategy. Peter came to eCredit having held Senior Executive positions at Computer Associates and Parametric Technologies. At Computer Associates, he was a Senior Vice President of Worldwide Indirect Sales responsible for over $500 million in revenue and a team of 350 people. He holds a BA degree in Accounting and Finance from Northeastern University.
